Legal Department
United Safety & Claims, Inc. established a legal department with the goal of offering their clients an opportunity to experience superior as well as efficient and economic legal services from an in-house attorney.
While United Safety & Claims, Inc. diligently strives to secure outstanding legal defense for our clients, specifically we identified several areas in which an in-house attorney benefits our clients: more frequent and personal access between adjuster and lawyer resulting in more thorough preparation of cases; development of defense plans with the direct assistance of adjusters; and cost/fee reduction due to lower overhead expense. We feel with an in-house counsel service, we have improved the quality of the services that we offer our clients, particularly, quality representation at a more affordable price.
Those who elect to utilize this service will be represented by United Safety & Claims, Inc.’s in-house counsel, Margaret Dunn Otterson. Maggie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with emphasis in legal aspects from Oklahoma State University followed by a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1991. She began her career in the practice of Workers’ Compensation in 1990 as a Legal Intern. During the early years of her practice, Maggie represented the interest of Workers’ Compensation claimant’s for approximately three and one half (3.5) years. The remainder of her experience consists of exclusively representing the interests of employers/insurance carriers. As the in-house counsel at United Safety & Claims, Inc., she is dedicated to providing quality representation as well as efficient and economic service to employers and insurance carriers.
